Paediatric First Aid

Accredited 

Practical, calm, and confidence-building — ideal for both new and experienced childcare professionals.

 

Our Paediatric First Aid course gives you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond to emergencies involving babies, children and teens. Designed to meet Ofsted requirements, this accredited course is ideal for teachers, nursery practitioners, childminders, and anyone caring for young people in a professional setting.​

Delivered in a warm, supportive environment, the course combines demonstrations, practical activities, and real-life scenarios so learners feel confident and ready to act.

On completion, participants receive a recognised Paediatric First Aid Certificate, valid for 3 years. A 1 day skills refresher course is recommended yearly to maintain confidence. 

​

Format options: 

- 2 x 6h days face-to-face

- 1 x 6h day face-to-face + online learning unit

- 2 x 3h twilight sessions face-to-face + online learning unit 

What to expect

​

This course covers all essential paediatric first aid topics, including:

​

  • Baby and child CPR

  • Use of an AED

  • Choking emergencies

  • Recovery position for babies and children

  • Recognising and responding to anaphylaxis

  • Asthma attacks and breathing difficulties

  • Seizures and febrile convulsions

  • Broken bones, sprains, and soft tissue injuries

  • Head injuries

  • Meningitis and sepsis awareness

  • Burns and scalds

  • Allergic reactions

  • Shock, bleeding, and wound care

  • Accident reporting and safeguarding considerations
