First Aid for Families

A relaxed, practical first aid session that gives parents and carers the confidence to handle emergencies involving babies and children

First Aid for Families is designed to help parents, grandparents, guardians, and carers feel calm and prepared in any situation. These friendly, welcoming sessions focus on real-life situations you may face at home or out and about, with clear demonstrations and practical guidance you can use immediately.

Delivered in small groups in your home or in a venue, this course is all about building confidence, reducing fear, and helping families feel ready to respond calmly in an emergency.

Perfect for:

  • Parents and carers of children of any age

  • Grandparents and family members 

  • Expectant parents

  • Babysitters, nannies, and informal carers

This is not an accredited course 

​

Format: 

- Family First Aid home classes that take place in your own home. This is a bespoke session, the length and content will be altered to fit your groups needs

- 3 hour face-to-face course in a local venue

What to expect

This course covers key family-focused emergencies, including:

  • CPR for babies and children

  • Choking (baby, child, and adult)

  • Fevers, seizures, and febrile convulsions

  • Burns, bumps, bleeds, and breaks

  • Allergies and anaphylaxis awareness

  • Meningitis and sepsis awareness 

  • What to do while waiting for help

  • How to stay calm and take safe, simple steps
